Yakamoto Kotzuga: a tsunami of music and news

This summer has been full of good news for Yakamoto Kotzuga, nee Giacomo Mazzucato, the 24-year-old artist from Venice that’s recently been chosen as the only one Italian artist for Red Bull Music Academy, the prestigious event that will be held in Berlin this September, celebrating its twentieth edition this year.

Yakamoto Kotzuga is a musician, composer, producer and sound designer that’s been alternating his presence inside the most important events of the Italian electronic music scene with the participation to international projects.

Speaking of the music, three years after his debut album “Usually Nowhere“, and after sharing the stage with artists such as Tycho, Lapalux, Blonde Redhead, John Talabot, Forest Swords and others, Yakamoto Kotzuga has returned with “Slowly Fading“.

Yakamoto Kotzuga’s carreer is not limited to music production: projects such as this are actually part of his activity as sound designer inside the business he has created himself,  Crossfade, a composition and sound design studio operating in Venice, London and Milan. “Aurora Sogna“, the new music video by Subsonica, is the latest project by Yakamoto Kotzuga and his team, with works of sound design.

Yakamoto Kotzuga is currently working at the composition of the original music for Netflix new series “Baby”, produced by Fabula Pictures. The series, the third italian original after Suburra and Juventus FC, is inspired by the true story of the baby escorts scandal in Rome, discovered in 2014.

Besides his participation to the New York Fashion Week and the call for the Red Bull event, Yakamoto was also chosen for the roster of The Italian New Wave, a Club To Club Festival format promoting the italian music creativity worldwide by showcases and unique events. On July 20th, some of the most original Italian artists, including Yakamoto Kotzuga, alternated themselves in the sonorization of various spaces inside Reggia di Venaria in Turin.
